Why I Ride: A Personal Letter from the Cyclist

Jun 20, 2025

Dear Friends and Supporters,

People often ask me why I’ve chosen to ride a bicycle across the country. The answer is simple, but deep: I ride for those who’ve served.

Our veterans have sacrificed comfort, safety, time with loved ones — even their lives — so we can enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted. And yet, so many of them come home to face new battles: mental health struggles, homelessness, lack of access to care, and a society that doesn’t always see them.

This ride is my tribute. It’s a moving memorial, a show of gratitude, and a call to action.

With every mile, I carry their stories with me. With every town I pass through, I see just how much good can be done when people come together for a cause.

I hope you’ll follow this journey, not just to see the sights, but to remember why we ride — and who we ride for.

With gratitude,

Brett
